Our name was inspired by Nellie Bly, the 19th century investigative journalist and pioneering traveler. She traveled solo around the world, but she didn’t do it without help. Nellie relied on connections she made ahead of time and along the way. Today’s Nellie travelers follow in her footsteps, and we build the network that makes it possible.

Amy Norman is a world traveler whose intercontinental upbringing and deep cultural curiosity inspired her to launch Nellie. Amy’s passion is to help more people realize the joy of travel that connects humans in a profound and lasting way. Before Nellie, Amy successfully scaled her first globally-focused business, Little Passports, which she created to inspire children to discover the wonders of the world we share. Both companies represent Amy’s strong belief that learning about the people, places, and cultures of the world opens minds, ignites curiosity, and generates empathy.
