Trip highlights

Nellie’s hand-selected guide will take you on a tour of the pre-Inca city of Tiwanaku, once the fabled capital of the bearded creator god Viracocha. This ancient site holds centuries of history within its walls, letting you truly connect with the indigenous heritage that shapes the region's cultural identity. While tour groups huddle around the main gate, you'll access areas most visitors never see.

Glide across the sapphire waters of Lake Titicaca—the world's highest navigable lake—aboard a private hydrofoil, journeying to sacred islands steeped in Inca mythology which have remained largely unchanged for generations. Our favorite stop is at the beautiful and sacred Basilica of Our Lady in Copacabana, the patron saint of Bolivia—where your guide knows exactly where to find the hidden treasures that most tourists walk right past.

Experience the otherworldly Uyuni Salt Flats, where the pristine white expanse creates a surreal landscape that seems to merge with the sky——creating the world's largest natural mirror after rainfall. Your private guide will take you to the Eyes of the Lake and Incawasi Island with its giant cacti—some more than a hundred years old! Unlike the typical day-trippers who have to rush back before sunset, you'll witness the salt flats transform into a kaleidoscope of colors as the sun dips below the horizon.

La Paz is a magical city with some of the world’s best restaurants, art, and nightlife—all at elevations that will literally take your breath away. On our private guided tour, you'll explore the city's rich heritage, from the vibrant witches' market with its colorful folk remedies and ritual objects (where locals still shop) to the historic Plaza Murillo at the city's heart. While tourists crowd the obvious spots, your guide will lead you to hidden courtyards and family-run restaurants.

Upon arrival in La Paz, you'll be met by your private driver for transfer to Atix Hotel. The first day allows a lot of free time for rest, relaxation, and acclimatization to the high altitude. We recommend small meals and moving at a leisurely pace while your body adjusts to living among the clouds.
